Description of Facilities

Situated in a picturesque and tranquil village setting less than a mile from Roanoke Sound, the Manteo Waterfront Marina offers excellent protection from the weather for vessels up to 150 feet. Quaint tree-lined streets, over 40,000 square feet of specialty retail shops on the waterfront, and several excellent restaurants and inns make staying at the Manteo Waterfront Marina an experience you will want to repeat year after year. The Waterfront Marina is at the center of Old Town Manteo.

This part of the Outer Banks is steeped in history. Manteo is the principal town on Roanoke Island, the place where in 1587 Sir Walter Raleigh established the first English colony in the New World - the settlement now known as the Lost Colony. For more than 400 years the disappearance of these original pioneers has remained a mystery and a cause of speculation for countless visitors and historians.

Marina Approach & Docking

From Roanoke Sound Channel marker “30A” turn to the West-Southwest between Manteo Channel entrance markers R “2M” and G “3”. Continue past the G “5”, and then sequentially past the R “6”, “8” and “10”. Turn onto a course of around 340° magnetic and you will be pointed at our facilities, a few hundred yards ahead. Controlling depth in Roanoke Channel and in the Manteo Channel is greater than 7 feet.

Take the alternate ICW from Coinjock, to Manteo and through the Pamlico Sound to Oriental and save 17 miles of driving the ditch! Because there is virtually no tide here, our docks are stationary with finger piers and tie-off pilings. Our facilities are available year round, and though reservations are recommended, they are not required. We monitor Ch 16 VHF and Ch 9 VHF. and you can call us from your cell phone at 252-473-3320. Please call for more information or to make reservations, and make a point to visit us on your way North or South. Discover this magical place.
